Or just put it in your shared stash to begin with and it'll be there once the other character can use said: Now I feel like I have to creat a new low level charecter and get him to the point where I unlock the stash, but it takes SO long to get there, just so someone has that gun on them at all times. When you get a character that can use it just boot up the original and put it in your shared stash. What I do is put it in my bank (the regular one) for my other lower level characters to use once they can. It's also easier to organize the gear based on character class in case you need to later on look for a specific item to use or share (like having snipers and weapons w/ bayonets on the Assassin, non elementals & combat rifles on Commando, etc.).
They should be roughly around level 8-10 by that point too. When you quit out and start your own private session, you may need to do the first two quests that may have skipped before getting a prompt to fast forward your progress. If you're lucky you may be able to find games in progress that are pretty close to getting to Sanctuary. I made one of each character class and like mentioned, getting your new characters to Sanctuary can be done fairly quickly especially with 3 other people. Anything extra that I have that is equally awesome but have no personal use for, I share with friends that would get good use out of them. What I'm doing right now with my low (or high) level E-Tech/Legendary/Rare/Uncommon loot is putting them in my main bank and transfer the gear to my other characters to stash in multiple banks/backpacks. So, you're definitely not alone in this loot lust predicament.
At this point with all my characters at higher levels it's already not as useful but considering there's absolutely no level requirement for it and has an awesome scope to it, i just simply can't part ways with it! I'm in the same situation too with two low level Legendary grenades that I've found from vending machines. It's DAHL Corrosive weapon (i think it's called Hornet) and says in the description 'Fear the Swarm'. I found a Legendary (orange) weapon at the very beginning of the game from killing Knuckle Dragger when I made my first Mechromancer.
